Rubem Farias is a Brazilian virtuoso upright and electric bassist, composer, and arranger currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. He has performed internationally with jazz icons including Mike Stern, Randy Brecker, and Robben Ford, along with the Balaio Quartet, Freedom Tree, and the Rubem Farias Big Band. Rubem has released numerous solo albums, most recently 2022’s Black Angel. He is also the curator and musical director of Brazilian Day Stockholm, where he has showcased the best of Brazilian music in Sweden for 13 years. He is currently on tour through June 2025 with guitarist Mike Stern.
