This week, we posted a fun interview with Daughtry bassist Josh Paul. In addition to being a great player and performer, Josh is a blast to watch! The way he sways, dances, gyrates, bobs, etc., shows how he really gets into the music. And it’s quite a sight to behold! Check out some of the Daughtry videos and you’ll see what I mean.

Watching Josh got me to thinking about other bass players who not only play well, but are really entertaining to watch too! Among the names that come to mind are Abraham Laboriel, Robert Trujillo, Will Lee, Bill Dickens, TM Stevens, Pancho Tomaselli, Mike Watt, Billy Sheehan, Freekbass, Verdine White, Norwood Fisher, and so many others.

As bass players, we all know our job is to lay down the groove and make the music feel good. But it doesn’t hurt to look like you’re having fun while doing it too!
