Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Blaise Sison has played electric and upright bass for a long list of music luminaries, cutting across a wide variety of genres.

Throughout his career, Blaise has performed with Richie Havens, Al Jarreau, Curtis Mayfield, James Brown, Lou Rawls, Willie Nelson, Lee Ritenour, Buddy Guy, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Steve Cropper, Toots Thielemans, Ronnie Foster, Lee Oskar and many others.

Currently, Blaise makes his home in Las Vegas and serves as bassist and musical director for The Family Stone, performing the hits from the iconic funk/rock/soul band Sly & the Family Stone.

FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Blaise at the Black Diamond Strings booth at the 2017 winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.
