How Stonefield is taking the bass world by storm
Exclusive video feature with FBPO’s Jon Liebman
December 12, 2016
Headquartered in Christchurch, New Zealand, Stonefield Musical Instruments is the brainchild of Tomm Stanley, whose vision recently earned him formal recognition from the U.S. patent office for his one-of-a-kind tailpiece tuning system design.
The Stonefield bass, while only on the market for a short time, is already gaining fast traction among bass players everywhere, including Cincinnati funk sensation Freekbass, who became a Stonefield artist earlier this year.
FBPO’s Jon Liebman caught up with Dan Antunovich and Rhys Williams, two native New Zealanders who worked with Stanley in the formative stages of Stonefield, before it attained the acclaim and prestige it enjoys today as “the next hot thing” in the bass world.
